Cryostats
Information guide
What are cryostats?
The term “cryostat” refers to cooling devices with which very low temperatures can be achieved and maintained consistently. Cryostats are used, for example, in aerospace technology, low-temperature physics, superconducting technology, in food and electronics testing areas, and for cooling of infrared detectors.
As cooling agents, liquid nitrogen (LN2), liquid helium (LHe), or refrigeration units are primarily used. Accordingly, one distinguishes, according to the respective cooling principle, between:
- Bath cryostats
- Evaporator cryostats
- Refrigerator cryostats
HSR AG exclusively develops and constructs customized, application-optimized refrigerator cryostats.
